Surely by now, you are used to me abandoning you and like any good absentee parent, I return with excuses and apologies. I’m sorry, here’s where I was.
I was at the race track again.
It was my home track and the greatest racing circuit in the US of A: Road America. Home of all you can eat pancakes,
If I need to remind you what I do, I make sure the CORE autosport boys do their interviews.
And have a Sharpie on hand when someone asks Patrick Long to sign their Porsche.
We didn’t do so hot. The race started in the rain. Our pit strategy was thrown off. There was a lot of time spent staring at computer screens nervously. Both cars finished in the top five though and we’re still leading the ALMS Prototype Challenge Driver and Team Championship.
So maybe I could have sent you all a Tuesdaygram the Tuesday after the race, but instead I went on vacation in Door County. For those of you not in the Midwest know, Door County is the thumb on the left hand that is Wisconsin. It is a peninsula of delights.
Including meatloaf, topped with mashed potatoes and onion rings.
Which rivaled the mac n’ brat I saw in Elkhart Lake.
There is also lots of custard, with creepy signs.
But not as creepy as the gnomes.
Most importantly there is Lake Michigan,
Sometimes you need to climb fire towers to get the best view.
Other times you just needed to look out the window.
But now it’s time to go back to Atlanta where I can supply you with a bevy of baked good blog posts especially since I did a crap ton of baking for the race track, my family and maybe even a gluten-free wedding.
Prepare for more apologies Labor Day weekend when the races call again…
Haha, that sign + gnome totally filled up my creepy quota for the day. Looks like such a fun job!
Thankfully the job is cool and all the creepy stuff stays in Door County 😉
What?!?!?! No mention of your awesome catering gig!?!?!??!
I didn’t have any pictures!
