Last Minute Christmas Cookie Guide

23 Dec

ChristmasCookieGuide
It is t-minus two days to Christmas and you haven’t baked your cookies yet? What kind of masochist are you? Oh my bad, you’re actually still looking for a parking space at Target. Your commitment is admirable, but now you have previous few hours to get that cookie platter stacked that you promised to bring to the party.

Red’s got your back. Now, depending on your situation, here is what I recommend… Continue reading

Peanut Butter Cup Caramel Bars

Peanut Butter Cup Caramel Bars | Adventures of a Hungry Redhead
This recipe convinced me to go back to full size peanut butter cups. By accident. For some reason I thought it called for full size peanut butter cups. Happy accident.

Previously I equated baking with peanut butter cups to Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Miniatures. And what’s not to love about eating the leftover miniatures? One bite and you’re in chocolate and peanut butter heaven. Although, there were those sassy cups whose chocolate ridges stuck to the inside of the paper liner. Who gave those cups such sass? Continue reading

Peanut Butter Jelly Bars

Peanut Butter Jelly Bars | Adventures of a Hungry Redhead
It’s peanut butter jelly time! Peanut butter jelly time! Peanut butter jelly! Peanut butter jelly! Peanut butter jelly with a baseball bat!

I’m still in my bar phase. I wish I was in a Barre phase and going to Barre classes twice a day, everyday. My ass would have its own Instagram account.

Maybe if I bought spiffy $50 Nike Studio Wraps, I’d go to more Barre classes at CRE8FIT. Continue reading

Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip Bars

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Bars | Adventures of a Hungry Redhead
So remember how I met my blogger friend Anna from Cookie Madness in Austin? Well, to celebrate the occasion I knew I had to make something from her blog for the occasion. I had been hankering to make some blondes, and of course Cookie Madness has a LOT of choices, not to mention Anna’s book The Daily Cookie.

The words “peanut butter chips” and “shiny top” immediately attracted me to this recipe for Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip Bars.

For a recipe so simple, I have one word: Whoa. They did not disappoint! Continue reading

Monster Cookies

29 Jul

Monster Cookies | Adventures of a Hungry Redhead
There are many things monstrous about these cookies:
1. They require a full jar of peanut butter
2. You’ll need a stick of butter in addition to the jar of peanut butter
3. They require four cups of oats
4. You add 1.5 cups of any and all mix-ins you like
5. The dough is monstrously addictive

Oh yeah, and it’s a Paula Deen recipe and some of you may think she is a monster. Continue reading

Nutter Butter Icebox Cake

Chocolate Nutter Butter Icebox Cake | Adventures of a Hungry Redhead
It’s summer. It’s hot. I’m seeing lots of “no bake” recipes pop up on Pinterest and blogs. I agree. Let’s not bake today. Let’s look for an excuse to buy Nutter Butters instead. And an excuse to make whipped cream.

You’d think one wouldn’t need an excuse to buy Nutter Butters and make whipped cream, both are delicious beyond compare. However, this redhead has no impulse control when it comes to Nutter Butters and whipped cream, which explains why I finished off the leftover whipped cream by scrapping it out of the bowl with the leftover Nutter Butters. I believe when I was a teenager I referred to that as a “snack.” I should probably refer to it more as a “relapse” these days. Continue reading

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies | Adventures of a Hungry Redhead
I know I just posted Peanut Butter Chocolate Swirl cookies to the blog last week… and P’Nutty Slutty Brownies the week before that.. and Peanut Butter Cup S’more Bars before that, but is it too soon to post another peanut butter and chocolate recipe? Am I becoming a two-bit chocolate peanut butter pony?

I stumbled across this recipe looking for a new chocolate chip cookie recipe and, hello, when you look at the photo how can you NOT Pin It and bake them? Lucky for me (and now you) these are as good as they looked, which can often be a rare occurrence where Pinning is concerned. Continue reading
